The Most Annoying Gel Manicure
You may have read before, but I used to work within a nail technician training academy. Here we would train professionals in a particular gel nail brand, so that they would be able to offer that product to their own clients. We would also offer support, which was offered over the telephone as well as additional training where required…
We wanted our trained technicians to be successful in the product, not only to get a return on their training investment, but also so that they could build a strong business, with repeat customers…
When we were smaller, taking support calls and dealing with customers on site, meant that I was exposed to a lot of the problems that people were having. These ranged from application problems, removal problems, product problems, the list goes on and on…
We were the source of knowledge for our customers and although the training was very intensive (it even had an exam at the end), sometimes unexpected gel manicure problems happened. We would try our best to solve the issues that our customers were having, but most of the time, it was difficult for them to figure out why it did…
Often, we would run through the procedure, so that we could see where the service might be breaking down, but because our customers believed they were following the procedure correctly, their answer would generally be, that they were doing all that we recommended. Usually if they were local, we could have them demonstrate it and immediately we would see the problem. This was a bit more tricky on the phone…
Which is why before we went ran through the procedure, we would ask the customer to explain it, as if they were telling it to someone, who knew nothing about the system…
This meant that, because they were being very detailed about what they were doing, we could slowly pick out points that could be the problem…
Most of the time this would solve it, but sometimes it was still necessary that we either received photos or videos from the client to figure it out…
The reason for this story, is to highlight that regardless of experience or how long you might be doing nails, everyone at some time would’ve experienced gel manicure problems. It is a skill to apply well and have them last…
Sometimes the problem is easy to fix and most of the time it was because of the Gel Preparation. Like painting a wall, no matter what paint you use, if the wall hasn’t been properly prepared, the paint is not going to last…
Which is why I have created the Gel Preparation Masterclass. This is the professional way that salons and nail technicians use and is one of the main reasons why you might be getting gel manicure problems…
It’s a free video course and I assure you, this isn’t anything that home gel kits will show you…
